Which registration do you need?
AGPO is the government programme for enterprises owned by youth, women and persons with disabilities to access reserved procurement opportunities. It concerns eligibility for preference and reservation arrangements. Read the AGPO programme FAQs ↗
e-GP Kenya is the government’s electronic procurement platform. The National Treasury says suppliers must register on the platform to participate in electronically enabled public procurement. An AGPO certificate does not, by itself, replace the relevant e-GP steps. Read the official e-GP supplier description ↗
First, check the AGPO requirements for your business
AGPO publishes separate registration checklists for youth-owned, women-owned and disability-owned enterprises. Depending on the type of business and category, they refer to identity documents, business registration, relevant ownership records such as CR12, tax compliance and other supporting documents. The disability category also identifies registration with the National Council for Persons with Disabilities.
Do not assume that every document is required for every business structure. Match the instructions to your enterprise and verify any current document format or eligibility criteria on the official AGPO requirements page ↗.
Next, prepare the details needed for e-GP
The e-GP supplier registration process records business information and authorised users, with checks against other government records. Suppliers should check that their business details are consistent with BRS and KRA records, and that the person managing registration is properly authorised. The National Treasury e-GP portal ↗ is the place to confirm the current process and access support.
Make sure the contact email and mobile number used for registration belong to your business and can receive official messages. Never share a registration password or verification code with a purported registration assistant.
What if a procuring entity asks for another supplier registration?
PPRA’s published AGPO circular addresses cases where enterprises already registered under AGPO are asked to undergo additional registration for inclusion on an entity’s supplier list. The circular explains the governing registration arrangements. It does not mean you can ignore tender-specific eligibility, e-GP requirements or the latest instructions. Read the PPRA circular ↗.
Before applying for a specific tender
Open the notice from the procuring entity or the Public Procurement Information Portal. Check whether it is reserved for a particular category, confirm the submission method, find any addenda and recheck the deadline. Registration is not a guarantee that the tender is suitable for your business.

The independently checked AGPO source describes category-based registration documents, and the e-GP supplier service describes electronic registration. Check AGPO original registration requirements for the applicable enterprise category and e-GP supplier service for the current electronic process. Neither step independently proves tender eligibility.
