Why deciding first saves money

Preparing a tender can require substantial time, printing, banking, travel and technical work. A quick decision before drafting can prevent avoidable sunk costs, especially where a disqualifying requirement cannot be met.

Gate 1: eligibility and reservation

Confirm that the bidder’s legal entity and supporting documents match the specific requirements. Check AGPO reservation conditions where relevant and never assume every reserved tender has identical rules.

Gate 2: time and evidence

List mandatory documents, signatories, bid security, data sheets and outstanding evidence. Match each to a responsible person and realistic deadline. Consider official changes and the precise closing time and method.

Gate 3: execution and money

Can the business deliver the scope, quantity, quality and timing? Model cash required before client payment, delivery logistics, taxes and the cost of commitments. A large nominal contract may still be a poor commercial fit.

Gate 4: record an outcome

Use GO only when the essential gates can be met. HOLD if an official clarification may change a specific uncertainty before the deadline. NO-GO if a mandatory gap or unmanageable commercial risk remains.

Repeat the same method

Current official-source reference

PPRA currently publishes reference formats for goods, building works, non-consulting services, requests for proposals, information technology. Match the specific procurement category, eligibility, technical requirements, bid timeline and delivery capacity against the real tender before deciding to bid. Review PPRA standard tender documents and PPIP original notices.

Official PPRA reference content checked separately. PPIP live content could not be independently verified during this source check. Always verify the current specific tender; no new procurement rule or guaranteed outcome is asserted.
