Five fields every alert needs
A useful alert identifies the procuring entity, tender reference, specific description, closing date and time, and the original official source. Reservation/AGPO category and addendum flags should appear when supported by the source.
Check the source again
A message forwarded a week ago may be outdated. Recheck the original government or procuring-entity notice for extensions, cancellation, mandatory meeting changes or revised technical specifications. Subscriber counts and forwards are not proof of authenticity.
Understand AGPO reservations
Confirm the exact reserved category, required registration and supporting documentation; AGPO status does not waive every other condition. Use the relevant procurement and supplier guidance to understand the programme, but follow the current tender.
Be careful with deadlines
Record local closing time and method; confirm portal submissions or physical receipt requirements. If new addenda arrive, review the bid and cost schedules rather than trusting an old checklist.
Make sharing useful
Share a current primary-source link, the verification date and a short, specific note explaining the bidder decision. Avoid describing an unverified opportunity as open.
